Ryan Mallett

Ryan Mallett

Mallett broke even more passing records on Saturday.

He threw for 5 touchdowns which ties his own record for the 3rd time this year.

He now has 28 passing touchdowns for the year breaking Clint Stoerner’s record of 26 set in 1998.

He threw for 313 yards which is good for the 15th best game in Razorback History.  He already owns the #1 and #2 games records.

He now has 3167 total passing yards for the season (with one game remaining) which expands on the record he already broke last week.  #2 all time is Clint Stoerner with 2629.

In only 11 games he has already entered the top 10 career passers in Razorback History.

Another week, a few more broken records…

Dennis Johnson broke the record for most Career Kickoff Return yards previously held by Felix Jones.  He now has 74 returns for 1799 total yards (24.3 yrd average – 5th all time) beating out Felix’s 1749

Last week it was completion percentage, a few weeks ago it was touchdown passes, before that it was passing yards in a game…  Ryan Mallett did it again in the Hogs 56-20 win over Troy on Saturday.  He threw for 405 yards passing which ranks #2 all time behind his own 408 yard performance against Georgia earlier this year. Mallet is rewriting the record books this year, and yesterday he set one of his most impressive records yet…

He will hold every razorback record before it’s all said and done.

The guys at woopig.net dug up a request made by the University of Arkansas Facilities Management Planning Group on Friday.  The request is… “soliciting responses from interested firms to provide architectural services for and Arkansas Athletics Facilities Master Plan and a Football Operations Center (more below).”

Sounds interesting.

First, the best part.

In addition to a master plan the request is looking for “full architectural services” for a Football Operations Center.  The new building is expected to cost $10-20 million and would include a coaching staff suite for the head coach, 13 assistant coaches, graduate assistants, admin assistants, and three conference rooms, meeting rooms, video analysis office / studio space, locker room (125 athletes), team lounge, banquet room, kitchen.

Coach Bobby Petrino said in his Wednesday evening radio show that WR Joe Adams had been cleared to play.  I’m already feeling better about the South Carolina game.  Glad to have ya back Joe!

Quote from Bobby Petrino:

Joe went down to Little Rock this morning, had a great meeting with the doctors down there.  They feel like they know the cause, they’ve addressed the issue.  He was out at practice, running around catching balls.  We just have to make sure physically he’s in the right condition, but he has been cleared for full participation, which put a smile on everybody’s face.
