FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Same score. Different result.
One year after a heartbreaking, 28-24 loss at Tennessee, Arkansas
turned the tables on the third-ranked defending national champions with
a 28-24 win Saturday afternoon that brought down the goalposts at
Razorback Stadium
The win by Arkansas (6-3, 3-3 Southeastern Confernence) gives the
Razorbacks bowl eligibility while severely crippling the prospects of
consecutive national titles for Tennessee (7-2, 4-2 SEC).
“Everybody on our football team played their guts out,” Arkansas head
coach Houston Nutt said afterward. “I loved the effort. Our players
never give up.”
Big plays on both sides of the ball helped Arkansas to an early lead
and helped rally the Hogs from a 24-14 deficit midway through the third
quarter.
