1946-1950


  

 

First helmet after the switch from leather helmets. White with Cardinal stripe. No facemask.

Record was 27-22-3 (.519) while wearing this helmet.

 

    

1951


  

 

Changed to a blank white helmet with no stripe. No facemask.

Record was 2-8-0 (.20) while wearing this helmet.

 

    

1952-1954


  

 

Plain cardinal Shell with no numbers or facemask

Record was 13-18-0 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1955-1957


  

 

Plain cardinal Shell with facemask, but no side numbers.

Record was 17-12-1 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1958-1963


  

 

In Frank Broyles first year he added 3″ numbers on the side of the cardinal helmet with grey or White facemask.

Record was 43-21-0 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1964-1966


  

 

First Razorback decal

Cardinal shell with white or light grey 1/2 bar facemask. Huge! 3″ white numbers on back.

 

Record was 29-3-0 while wearing this helmet!

 

 

    

1967-1974


  

 

more detail on the razorback decal. Cardinal shell with grey facemask. Still has 3″ white numbers on back.

Record was 57-25-4 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1975-1976


  

 

Same as previous with the addition of small razorback award decals.

Record was 15-7-1 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1977


  

 

Same as previous, but when Lou Holtz took over as HC he removed all back decals. (no numbers or award decals)

Record was 10-1-0 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1978-1994


  

 

Same as previous, but changed to a white facemask begenning with the Orange Bowl game from the ‘77 season

Record was 127-69-5 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

1995-2000


  

 

Same as previous, but enlarged the logo by 15%,

Record was 39-32-0 while wearing this helmet.

 

 

    

2001-2002


  

 

Razorback logo is re-designed. Sharper tusks along with a stronger more agressive body

Record was 16-10-0 while wearing this helmet

 

 

    

2003-2008


  

 

2003:  Changed helmet paint to a metallic finish.

2004:Barbara Broyes was the Wife of long time AR AD Frank Broyles. The square black decal was worn the final 6 games of the 04 season.

2005:  The Schutt logo was replaced with an “SEC” logo and a Katrina decal with a shiloette of LA, MS, and AL.

2006:  Katrina decal removed.  Square number decals now have a white background.
