Arkansas won the coin toss. The Razorbacks elected to receive. Korliss Marshall took the ball 1 yard deep in the end zone and brought out the 15 yard line. The game started out with the clock issue which cause a short delay. Jonathan Williams is in the backfield for the first play. Handoff to Jonathan Williams who avoids the hole moves to the outside and picks up 3 yards. Actually showing second and eight. On second and eight, Brandon Allen throws a slant pass to the left, the ball was tipped in the air nearly intercepted by Auburn. On third and eight Brandon Allen chose to run the ball and ended up just short of the first down at the 24 yard line. The Hogs punted on the next play.
On third and five, Jeremy Johnson throws for a first down to Sammy Coates. Auburn lines up at its 43 yard line and continues its hurry up offense. The first down play gets 8 yards. Auburn appeared to get the first down with a run to the left, short side of the field, but the Tigers were flagged for holding, resulting in second and 13. An end around play by Ricardo Louis the Tigers gained no ground. On third and 13, Johnson took the snap and threw a screen pass to the left to Payne who rumbled for first down. At first down, Brooks Ellis crashed through the offensive line of Auburn and tackled the Auburn back for 4 yard loss back to the 50 yard line. On following play, the Tigers throw the ball to the left on a out pattern, Rohan Gains fell down, and the Auburn receiver went to the end zone. Auburn started with the swinging gate formation on the ensuing extra point, switched to regular formation and the extra point was good. The Tigers took a seven to nothing lead.
On Auburn’s second kickoff, it goes out of the end zone for touchback. The Hogs start at the 25 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Korliss Marshall took the ball around the right end for a 7 yard gain. Auburn lines up with five men on the line of scrimmage. The Brandon Allen hands off the Korliss Marshall who breaks to the Auburn line on the left and runs to the full Arkansas Arkansas 45 yard line. On the next play, Brandon Allen pitches to Alex Collins who races down to the Auburn 35 yard line. Again, Brandon Allen hands off Alex Collins who runs through a huge hole on the right-hand side of the line of scrimmage all the way down to the Auburn 14. Those plays were 20 and 22 yards respectively. On the first down play, Korliss Marshall is back in the game and gets no ground. Brandon Allen connects to Hunter Henry on a 14 yard pass. Hunter Henry was all alone in the end zone for six points. John Henson added the extra point, and the score was tied at seven all with 8:44 remaining in the first quarter.
The ensuing kickoff was deep in the end zone and resulted in the touchback. On first down, Jeremy Johnson throws to Williams for a an 18 yard gain to the Auburn 43. On first down, a handoff up the middle was stuffed for only a 2 yard gain. Johnson fakes swing pass to the left and turns to throw the long ball. The play results in a pass interference call on Rohan Gains who essentially tackles Sammy Coates before he gets the ball. The 15 yard penalty puts the Tigers at the Arkansas 39. On first down, a sweep play to the right resulted in a 4 yard gain. On second and seven, Auburn hands off around the left end. It resulted in a first down to the Arkansas 27 yard line. Next play, Johnson passes to Sammy Coates who is tackled at the Arkansas 1 yard line. Payne goes 1 yard up the middle for the touchdown. Auburn added the extra point to take a 14 to 7 lead with 4:25 remaining in the first quarter.
The kickoff by Auburn was not returnable. Arkansas hands off the Korliss Marshall on the left side who runs for 5 yards on first down. Brandon Allen looks to his right and throws to Keon Hatcher on a fly. Keon had is player beat by a yard, and it hit him in the hands for an incomplete pass that results in a third and 5 for Arkansas. The Hogs call a timeout. From the Arkansas 30 yard line, Brandon Allen drops back to pass, decides to run, and gets about first yard first down yardage. The play resulted in a personal foul penalty against Auburn and put the Hogs to the 50 yard line. On the next play, Jonathan Williams is in for the Razorbacks and runs through the middle of the Auburn line for 11 yards. Next, Arkansas lined up in and I formation, and Jonathan Williams was stopped for a one-yard loss. With Alex Collins in the single back set, Brandon Allen droppped back to throw, and hit Cody Hollister for a pass good for 5 yards. On third and six and Auburn showing blitz with Alex Collins in the backfield, Brandon Allen rolls around to the right and throws the ball away. Sam Irwin-Hill hits a wonderful kick which is caught by the Arkansas gunner at the Auburn 2 yard line.
Johnson hands to Payne who goes over the right side for a 7 yard gain. On second down, Payne picks up the first down taking the Tigers to the Auburn 15 yard line. Johnson then throws to Williams to catches the ball and runs to the Arkansas 21 yard line, a 62-yard reception. Johnson hands to Payne who jukes right and then left for an 8 yard gain. That’s the end of the first quarter.
On the opposite side of the field, Auburn started the second quarter with a second down and three. Auburn executes a draw play to Payne who races for a touchdown. However, the play is called back because of a facemask penalty by Auburn. The next play to Corey Grant takes the ball wide to the left side and has no gain. Faced with a third and six, Johnson steps on a quick drop and tosses a slant pattern to Williams on his right who goes 18 yards for a touchdown. Auburn adds the extra point and leads the ballgame with a score of 21 to 7. Auburn’s drive goes for 75 yards on six plays in 2:43.
The ensuing kickoff goes out of the end zone. On first down, Brandon Allen throws a play action pass to Demetrius Wilson. Arkansas loses the yard on first down, and on second down Brandon Allen drops back and throws a pass to his left to Demetrius Wilson for a first down. On the next play, Auburn drew a defensive holding call giving the Razorbacks a first down at the Auburn 29 yard line. The pitch by Brandon Allen to Jonathan Williams results in a one-yard gain around the left end, but Williams looks shook up on the play. A dropback pass was caught by Jeremy Sprinkle on the right who rumbled for a first down. At this point, Arkansas had 156 total yards to Auburn’s 258. A play action pass is thrown to AJ Derby who is in the end zone for an Arkansas touchdown. The PAT is good. Arkansas scoring drive was six plays covering 75 yards in two minutes and 53 seconds. The Hogs close the gap to 21 to 14.
The kickoff was short giving Ricardo Louis a return. Louis gets to the Auburn 25 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Johnson tosses the ball to a running back who was not looking, and the pass was incomplete. In the next play, Payne bowls and fights for 9 yards. Third & one, Brooks Ellis crashes through the Auburn line and throws Payne for a 2 yard loss. Auburn punts the ball with DJ Dean back for Arkansas to receive. The ball goes all the way back to the Arkansas 3 yard line where Dean catches the ball and runs to the Arkansas seven.
On the first play, Brandon Allen hands off to Korliss Marshall who runs for 8 yards on left of the line. On second & two, Korliss Marshall gets hit as he crosses the first down line and fumbles the ball. Arkansas recovers. Korliss Marshall leaves the game holding his right arm. On the next play, Alex Collins comes in and rumbles to his left and back across the field for an Arkansas first down. Arkansas is out to its 36 yard line with that run from Alex Collins. On the next play, Collins gets the call again and rushes through the Auburn line for another 10 yards and another Arkansas first down. At this point in the game, Arkansas has 14 first downs to Auburn’s 10. Handoff to Jonathan Williams goes for three yards. Allen drops back to pass, and throws to Jonathan Williams for a one-yard gain. Arkansas is 0/2 on third down conversions at this point in the game. The Hogs are at the 50 yard line. Allen throws a strike to Demetrius Wilson down center the field. On the first down, Allen throws the ball to his left to AJ Derby who runs down to the Auburn 18 yard line. Arkansas has a first and ten from the Auburn at 17 yard line. A toss to Jonathan Williams around the right side goes for 11 yards. The Hogs have first down at the Tiger 6 yard line. Jonathan Williams gets a toss to the left side of the field and rumbles in for a Arkansas touchdown. The point after is good. Arkansas drove 93 yards on 10 plays taking five minutes and six seconds off the clock. The score is tied at 21.
The kickoff is into the end zone for a touchback. Jeremy Johnson remained in for the Auburn Tigers. A handoff to the right to Grant went for 3 yards. Johnson then throws left to Williams who is just short of the first down. Auburn faces a third and one. A trap play is stopped by Arkansas’s Trey Flowers for no gain. Auburn has a fourth and one and is going for it. Auburn tries to draw Arkansas offside with a hard count and gets called for a false start. Auburn is foreced to punt.
The punt was fielded by DJ Dean at the Arkansas 20 yard line who returned the ball to the Arkansas 25 yard line. On first and 10, Collins takes the ball for a one-yard gain on the left side. On a play action pass, Brandon Allen throws incomplete to AJ Derby in the left flat. The Razorbacks have a third & nine from their 25 yard line. Brandon Allen attempts a pass to Cody Hollister on the left at the first down marker. The past is incomplete. Sam Irwin-Hill comes on for a punt.
Auburn takes over at its 40 yard line. Johnson throws a pass to Williams coming across the middle down to the Razorback 40 yard line. Johnson then passes again to Williams on the right who catches the ball and then fumbles the ball forward. The ball is dead at the spot of the fumble which was two yards short of the first down. On second two, Johnson drops back for a pass, looks left and throws right to Sammy Coates. The pass is high and incomplete. On third and two, Auburn lines up and hands the ball to Payne who gets a first down. Auburn is at the Arkansas 28 yard line. Johnson does a short drop, throws to the right flat for an incomplete pass. On second and 10, Johnson is back to pass again to Coates in the end zone. The pass is outside and out of bounds and incomplete to Coates. Facing third and 10, Auburn takes its second timeout of the half. It’s announced that there is 23 seconds left on the clock. Johnson goes back for a pass and throws it over the center of the field , and an Arkansas defender was there to make the play. Brooks Ellis was on Johnson as he threw the ball. Auburn uses its final timeout in order to set up for a field goal. Auburn attempts a 41-yard field goal which hits the right upright and is no good. At the half, the score is tied at 21 all.

Arkansas kicked off to start the second half. The Auburn returner took the ball at the 5 yard line headed around the left side for a long return. However, Auburn was called with a block in the back for a 10-yard penalty from the spot of the ball. Nick Marshall returns to the Auburn offense for the first time this season. Auburn starts its drive at the Auburn 22 yard line. The first play is a run up the middle by Payne for 4 yards. On second & six, Nick Marshall throws a pass to Williams on the right. Williams was at first down yardage but continued to give up ground. Williams stayed on his feet, and Auburn ended up with a third and 6. Nick Marshall dumps the ball off to Corey Grant who runs around the right side for a first down. A handoff to Payne on the right side goes for 2 yards. Auburn is at its 35 yard line. Marshall fakes to Payne and keeps it to the right to leave Auburn with a third and two. Auburn rushes to the line of scrimmage. Marshall makes a play action fake and the pass is thrown to the Auburn receiver downfield for a gain to the Arkansas 32 yard line. On the next play, Payne takes the handoff and goes to the right for a first down to the Arkansas 20 yard line. Alan Turner for the Razorbacks appears to be hurt and Bret Bielema decides to substitute in for defensive players. The Auburn fans boo. The handoff to Payne goes to the 41 yard. On second & nine, Marshall fakes to Payne on the left and takes the ball to the right through the Arkansas line and in for a touchdown. It was almost an identical play to the one he made earlier. The Auburn drive goes for nine plays, 78 yards, and a touchdown taking 4:18 seconds off the clock.
Korliss Marshall returns to the game. The ball is kicked into the end zone for a touchback. On the first play from scrimmage, Brandon Allen connects with AJ Derby for loss of one to the right side. Arkansas tries almost the same play, this time to the fullback Patrick Arinze. The gain was for 3 yards. On third and eight, Brandon Allen throws to the right short of the first down marker to Demetrius Wilson. The ball goes through Wilson’s hands leaving Arkansas with a fourth and eight and a punting opportunity for Sam Irwin-Hill. Hill’s punt goes to the Auburn 31 yard line where the Auburn receiver Bray returns the ball to the 50 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Tevin Beanum knocks the ball loose from Payne, and the ruling on the field was that Arkansas recovered a fumble. The play stands on reveiw and Arkansas took the ball over at the Auburn 46 yard line.
First play from scrimmage goes for 3 yards around the right to the 50 yard line. Brandon Allen drops back with a fake and an end around to Keon Hatcher and then dumps the ball to Hatcher who dodges the first Auburn defender and goes for a first down. The Hogs continue at the Tiger 34 with a handoff to Alex Collins who gains one-yard. On second & nine, Auburn puts nine men on the line of scrimmage. Brandon Allen goes back for a short pass and dumps the ball to AJ Derby on the left for a three or 4 yard gain. The Hogs face a third down and four from the Auburn 28 yard line. Handoff is to Alex Collins who loses back to the Arkansas 35 yard line. The flag on the play was for a hold, and the penalty was declined. Sam Irwin-Hill comes on to punt from his 48 yard line. The ball hits at about 4 yard line and takes an Auburn bounce and is downed at about the 10 yard line. 5:30 remains in the third quarter.
Auburn starts its drive up on its own 11 yard line. They come out in the wildcat formation with Bray taking the snap and handing off to Grant. Marshall takes the snap and throws down the middle the field to Williams for an Auburn first down to the Auburn 45 yard line. The next play is a handoff to Grant on the right side for a 4 yard gain. Second & six, Marshall fakes a handoff and keeps the ball. He is dropped in the back field by JaMichael Winston for a loss of about 5 yards. Auburn is called for a substitution infraction and penalized 5 yards. The penalty gives Auburn a third and 15 from the Auburn 41 yard line. Nick Marshall fakes and drops back for a pass. The pass is overthrown to his receiver down the middle, Coates, setting up a punting situation for Auburn.
Korliss Marshall is back in for the Razorbacks. He takes the toss around the right for 3 yards. Brandon Allen is hit as he tries to throw the ball after a five-step drop. The ball sails like a duck into the hands of Auburn safety who returns the ball for a touchdown. There is a flag on the play. The penalty is on Dan Skipper for blocking below the waist on the return. The penalty is declined leaving Auburn with six points. The point after is good. Auburn leads Arkansas 35 to 21 with 2:39 remaining in the third quarter up. The kickoff is through the end zone resulting in a touchback.
Arkansas takes over on its 25 yard line. The call is to Alex Collins up the middle. The play goes for no gain. Arkansas is called for a false start leaving the Hogs with a second and 15. Brandon Allen throws to Cody Hollister for what is close to a first down at the Arkansas 35. The plays ruled as a first down. Brandon Allen back to pass again, and he throws the ball to Jonathan Williams who catches the ball. He’s stripped of the ball and recovers his own fumble. That ends the third quarter with Auburn leading Arkansas 35 to 21.
On third down seven, Brandon Allen throws incomplete to Jared Cornelius. Sam Irwin-Hill punts the ball to the Auburn 10 yard line. On the first play, Payne takes the ball around the right side for 10 yard gain. Arkansas lines up with seven men on the line of scrimmage. Payne breaks through the line scrimmage and goes up the middle to the Auburn 49 yard line. Nick Marshall scrambles on a busted play and picks up 4 yards to the right. On second and six Marshall fakes to Payne and goes to the left where he is tackled at the first down line. On third and one Payne takes the ball to the left for a first down to the Arkansas 35 yard line. Just before Auburn gets off the snap, the Tigers call for a timeout. On the ensuing play, Marshall fires for Coates in the end zone who just misses the ball. A handoff to Grant goes for 11 yards down to the Arkansas 24 yard line. The next play Marshall keeps the ball. Arkansas is on him quickly and throws him for a 5 yard loss. Grant takes the ball up the center for a 6 yard gain leaving the Tigers with a third and nine. Marshall goes back for a pass and is sacked by Taiwan Johnson for a loss back to the Auburn 35. The kick by Carlson for a 45 yard field goal attempt is good. Auburn leads Arkansas 38 to 21. The PA announcer says that lightning is in the area within 10 miles and that the game is suspended. Both teams had to the locker room with 9:55 remaining in the game for a mandatory 30 minute break.
After an hour and 28 minute lightning delay, play resumed about 7:20 PM. Auburn had scored a field goal and will kickoff. The Hogs started their drive at the 25 yard line after a touchback. Lining up, Mitch Smothers loses the wet ball as he snaps it, and Arkansas gets a false start penalty. On the second play, Brandon Allen throws a swing pass to Korliss Marshall who runs to the Auburn 34 yard line. On second down, Brandon Allen attempted to throw the ball, and ball was patted down by the LaDarius Owens. On third down, the offensive line lined up with tight splits, and Brandon Allen got the first down on a quarterback sneak over the left guard. On first down, Brandon Allen throws the ball to Hunter Henry, but the pass was a little behind him, and Hunter could not catch the ball. Allen throws the ball again. This time to Demetrius Wilson who gets to the Arkansas 40 yard line. As a Hogs faced third and six, Brandon Allen is sacked by Casanova McKenzy for a 7-yard loss. Sam Irwin-Hill came on to punt the ball. The ball lands in gets in Arkansas roll and is downed at the Auburn 15 yard line.
Nick Marshall hands off to Payne who rumbles for a first down down to the Auburn 47 yard line. The next play was a handoff up the middle and stuffed by Brooks Ellis. On second & 11, Auburn hands off to Payne once again who runs through the line and into the secondary for a 12 yard gain. Again, Auburn goes to Payne over the right side who runs for 7 yards. At the end of the play, Darius Philon is down. Once again, Auburn goes to Payne up the middle. Play goes for no gain. It’s third down and five for the Tigers. With Auburn at the Arkansas 34 yard line, Nick Marshall runs a delay and hands off to Corey Grant on the left who runs for a first down. The clock reaches four minutes left to go in the game. Auburn with the first and 10th on the Arkansas 28 hands off to Grant who pierces the line to the outside and runs to the Arkansas 3 yard line. First and goal from the three, Auburn hands to Grant to gets a push from the Auburn line and scores a touchdown. The point after was good. Auburn leads Arkansas 45 to 21.
The ensuing kickoff goes into the end zone, and Korliss Marshall takes a knee. With 3:15 remaining in the game, Arkansas starts at its 25 yard line. Brandon Allen back to pass throws to Keon Hatcher on the right. The ball is under thrown and incomplete. Brandon Allen back to pass again. This time he throws to Alex Collins on a dump pass. Collins runs for 5 yards after the catch. Allen once again from the shotgun is chased, rolls right, and throws the ball incomplete out of bounds to Keon Hatcher. The Hogs lineup at fourth and five, and Auburn calls timeout. 2:25 remains in the game. The rain starts falling again. Brandon Allen takes the ball from the shotgun, rolls right and throws incomplete to Hunter Henry.
Nick Marshall comes out of the ballgame. Quarterback Jonathan Wallace takes a snap around the 41 yard line. Auburn hands the ball up the middle for a one-yard gain. One minute remains in the game. On third and six, Auburn hands to Barber who runs around the left side for a first down. A player on the Arkansas secondary went down on that. Auburn does not take another snap, and the players and coaches greet one another.
