SEC Power Poll Ballot, Week 1

by Jacob

Reading time: About 3 minutes

I’m very honored to join the group of SEC Bloggers that vote in the SEC Power Poll.  The guys over at “Arkansas Expats“ are back along with 28 Blogs from around the SEC.  The ballots are cast weekly and  results are released each Wednesday by Team Speed Kills.

Here is my 1st week’s ballot.  Please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

poll

1. Florida
Should have an easy time getting through the East.
2. Alabama
The only question with Bama was the play of the QB.  He answered and I believe the Crimson Tide will play Florida in the SEC Championship Game.
3. LSU
Survived a scare with Washington, but will be much improved by the time they play Georgia next month.
4. Georgia
The only SEC Team with a loss, but I look for them to bounce back. The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party should decide the East.
5. Ole Miss
Didn’t look like a top 5 team in the country when they played Memphis… Look for Ole Miss to lose at least 2 in SEC Play.
6. Arkansas
The Hogs broke the school record for most passing yards in a game while only giving Michael Smith only 4 carries.
7. South Carolina
Strong Defense, but can they score in the SEC?
8. Tennessee
Better than I expected.  With Monte Kiffin calling the Defense and a high powered offense – rebuilding in Tennessee may be quicker than first expected.
9. Auburn
One of the biggest question marks in the SEC… Can Gus Mahlzan turn around the the Tiger Offense in his first season?
10. Kentucky
Had a great start, but the next month is gonna be tough… They could easily lose 4 of their next 5 games.
11.  Mississippi State
We should find out a lot about this team when they play Auburn this week.
12. Vanderbilt
After they lose to LSU this week Vandy and Mississippi State play for 11th place in the SEC on September 19th.

I would change places with Georgia and Tennessee. Just my opinion.

It’s very possible. I expect the poll to be quite different after this weeks games.
